Deckstorm – The Campaign List Screen

A screen that seems simple on the surface actually requires a lot of forethought into its design. That was the case in this instance, where I was tasked to create a navigable scroll list of banners that function as advertisements and also are buttons to press.

There was a great need to give the user a lot of options for campaigns and events as this would encourage increased playtime and thus improve retention and revenue. Therefore each campaign banner needed to be eye-catching to the user and also relay the pertinent information that would further entice their participation.

Again, the high quality artwork serves as that eye-catching hook while supplemental details describing the rewards each campaign would bring build on that pull. Information had to thus be placed carefully so as to not obscure or overpower each other in prominence. Also scalability needed to be considered in future cases where more information would be added, an example of this in the image is the top Event campaign which gives even more bonuses to the user than others.

The scalable design had to incorporate data from network servers that would change dynamically depending on what events were active and the differences in text that would come with those changes.
